Grammar isn't hard... we just learned it wrong!
If you feel like grammar is complicated and difficult, let me tell you, you're definitely not alone.
Many people feel the same way... but the truth is, the problem isn't with grammar itself.
The problem is simply with the method of explanation and memorization we're used to.
Why does grammar seem difficult?
- Too much information at once
- Complex rules full of details
- Memorization without understanding
- Lack of practical application
All of this makes you feel like it's a heavy and incomprehensible topic.
So, what is grammar, anyway?
Simply put:
Grammar isn't just a set of rules to memorize...
Grammar is a system that helps you understand and form correct sentences.
Just as you speak Arabic without thinking about the rules, it's the same idea with English.
How to start correctly?
1. Start with the basics only
Don't get bogged down in too many details from the start.
Focus on:
- Simple sentences (subject + verb + object)
- Basic tenses (present – past – future)
Simple example:
- I eat
- I ate
- I will eat
See? It's simpler than you think.
2. You don't have to understand everything at once
The biggest mistake is trying to understand everything from day one.
Learn bit by bit... and go one step at a time.
The important thing is to use what you learn.
3. Focus on usage, not memorization
Forget about just memorizing rules.
Ask yourself:
"How can I use this rule in a sentence?"
The more you use grammar in real conversation,
the more you'll find yourself understanding and remembering it without even realizing.
4. Making mistakes is not a problem
Many people are afraid to speak so they don't make mistakes.
But the truth is:
Mistakes are the fastest way to learn.
If you stay silent... you'll never improve.
A simple plan to follow
- Learn 5–10 sentences daily
- Try to use them in your speech
- Listen to similar sentences
- Repeat them out loud
